Apart from a small section along Axios river the rest is of minimal interest.

Description

Cross the Axios river bridge and then turn left on a dirt road, cross the railway line and continue on tracks coming eventually by the river. Follow a small path along its bank to join a track leading to Pefkodasos. Continue on a dirt road over rolling hills to Mikrodasos and then follow the tarmac to Platania and Pontoiraklia.

Amenities

There is no accommodation along the route. Take a bus or taxi to Polikastro or Kilkis.

Transportation

There is a daily but not frequent bus service to Polikastro (Tel: 23430 22315).
