Overview

This is an easy and pleasant hike across Tsal mountain. The first leg leads to Drimotopos settlement on forest tracks. The second leg, is along a beautiful newly opened path and is mostly downhill.

Description

From Lekani you have to take the paved road to the north, north-west and after 3km bear left on a wide tracking ascending through forests to Drimotopos settlement. Continue on a minor track on the south of the village. Before a stream turn steeply left along a footpath over a saddle, soon into the forest. Continue downhill, through beech forest on a narrow but easy to follow path. Cross a stream and continue through oak forest, steeply at places. Emerge on a track and follow it straight ahead. Where the track bends to the right ascending, take care to stay left instead on a minor track. This track fades out after 500m and you have to climb steeply to the right along a very fuzzy but signed trail to join another track. Turn left and continue on this track to emerge at the outskirts of Polinero village.

Amenities

There is not much in Polinero. There are tavernas in Platamonas and Korifes.

Signposting

Good signposting after Drimotopos (mainly plastic ribbons).
